Pharmacy Assistant

The Pharmacy Assistant program provides both technical and practical training which will enable the assistant to function as a competent, entry-level assistant to a licensed pharmacist. The program provides the student with the basic knowledge of and practice in pharmacy calculations, drug distribution systems, and preparation of sterile dosage forms.

Computer skills necessary in pharmacy practice will be utilized, and both pharmaceutical and medical terminology will be covered. In conjunction with local pharmacists and other relevant industry representatives, our program has achieved a high standard of education in training pharmacy assistants and other health professionals for specialized areas. Each instructor possesses specific education and experience in the courses they teach. The Pharmacy Assistant program has a compulsory 150-hour placement in a retail environment.
